1967 VW Split Screen Camper

I'm Poppy - a 1967 4 berth camper with a 1,493 cc air cooled and 99,400 miles ...

I was born in 1967, some time before you.  I have had a good life with not too many complaints ! My owners have all treated me very well and this shows in my body and my interior. I haveI will my original interior, complete with my drapes from my original day of manufacture.

My body is good.  I'm still as appealing as a lipstick pin up as I was the day I rolled off the line...sure I have a few flaws as you would except, yet only a few small marks and blemishes here, too much sun !

My under carriage is rust free and in good condition with a nice coat of rust protector that I received when my body was restored and repainted some years ago by the owners, who have looked after me for over 10 years...

I have a good reliable and strong engine along with clutch and gearbox and I drive very well.  I did get a little excited when slowing so they took my drums out and replaced them with disk brakes along with new shoes and tyres. Still they gave me a spare so not complaining...

They just don't get me to the beach so often.  After discussion I finally got them to take me out of storage, put me in the boutique where I was examined - giving me a brand new ticket of health and passing happily with no flaws.They did mention some oil misting on my lower end and around my steering.  When asked to correct they informed my owner that it is just misting.

I have my birth certificate v5, many mot's and my new mot, along with two sets of keys. I may not have lots of service history, but I have been well maintained each year by my families' local garage.
